This collection was completed a few days before my 74th birthday. As I reviewed the folder of 32 poems, I soon discovered that no particular program was presenting itself. But then they magically assembled themselves into four 'families' plus a prologue and epilogue. The layout seemed to make sense, but the chapters were hard to define. So I named them after four distinctive colors for no coherent reason, much like naming a cat or a child.
Themes are religious, spiritual, existential, morose, and upbeat, with a bit of humor, but not as much as I had hoped. These
motifs are mostly integrated throughout the collection rather than isolated in any one poem. —M.G.
